Treatment for heroin addiction using the rapid detox method

I believe some people would prefer going to treatment for heroin addiction as opposed to going cold turkey heroin. One must be entirely ready to stop using heroin because some of these heroin detox’s are quite expensive but don’t not let this dissuade you from getting help because there is always the option of free rehab. That’s right I did say free imagine that going to treatment for nothing how can you beat that? You can’t!

One way a person can stop using and go to treatment which is called Rapid Detox or RAD which stands for rapid antagonist detox aptly named because this procedure uses a heroin antagonist like narcon to remove any opiates from the body. This is all done in a couple or hours while one is asleep from anesthesia. When the patient wakes up their heroin rapid detox will be complete.

Then will then be taken to a room where they will recover will probably be watched by nurses for a couple of days. I will add here that the patient may not remember a thing about their heroin withdrawal. If you decide to do this you will be medically detoxed from heroin by a staff of people who are specifically trained for this procedure.

This all sounds good but if you are a very heavy heroin user I would not recommend this procedure. This type of rapid detox also has risks some patients have died from being under for to long so you may want to think long and hard about this.

One other major drawback to RAD at this time is that it is very expensive some places are charging in the neighborhood of $8,000. Therefore this type of treatment will not be for everyone.

Good luck
